General Office Questions
I am unhappy with the way my teeth look. What types of dental treatments are available to cosmetically alter the appearance of my teeth?
Cosmetic dentistry has evolved to make total mouth transformations a reality for many people. Treatments are available to change the size, shape, position and color of your teeth. Whether you want to fill in a few gaps or completely change the look of your teeth, we can help you get the smile you have always dreamed of.
Are dental x-rays safe for my family?
Dental x-rays emit very small amounts of radiation while images are taken. Our office employs stringent measures to ensure you and your family are safe during your visit.
I have a fear of going to the dentist. Is it really necessary for me to go if my teeth aren’t hurting?
We understand that many patients have apprehensions about visiting the dentist – even for a routine check-up. Whether you are intimidated by the sights and sounds of the dental office or uneasy due to a negative dental experience in the past, rest assured that your comfort is our number one priority.
Advances in modern dentistry have grown by leaps and bounds over the past decade, making the office experience much more pleasant for most patients. Please contact us at any time to find out more about ways we can help you ease your anxiety and feel more at ease during your appointment.
Do you accept new patient referrals?
Over the years, patients have given us the compliment of referring family and friends to our practice. Our reputation for excellent dental care depends on two things: on our good work and on your beautiful smile. Your confidence in our care motivates us to continue to strive for excellence. Thank you for your referrals. Your trust and support are greatly appreciated.
What can I expect from my first appointment?
During your first appointment, your overall dental and oral health will be assessed with a comprehensive oral evaluation. Upon completion of your medical/dental health form, we will ask you to tell us your goals regarding your smile, teeth, and gums.
Digital photos and X-rays will be taken of your teeth to identify areas of decay, cracked teeth and malfunctioning restorations. Our goal is to preserve as much of your teeth as possible by catching decay in its earliest stages. We’ll also assess your gums and recommend the appropriate hygiene treatment for you.
Do you accept my insurance?
We realize how complicated dental insurance has become in recent years. Many patients have questions that are difficult to answer precisely because of the unique nature of your individual policy. We are here to help!
Our practice is considered “out-of-network”. This means that treatment decisions and costs are based on the nature of the treatment that you and your doctor decide upon and not on the restrictions and profit motives of your insurance company. Simply put:
- You and your doctor decide on the best course of treatment to meet your desires and goals.
- Your out-of-pocket cost is estimated based on our fees minus the estimated benefit your insurance company offers.
- You select one of our several convenient payment options for your estimated portion of the fees that are not covered by insurance.
This simple approach as an out-of-network provider allows us to offer the following services and features:
- Complimentary benefits check to determine precisely what coverage your policy allows
- Complimentary electronic filing of your insurance claim for fast payment of the allowable portion of your bill.
- Limited refiling of claims if needed.
- Freedom from restricted procedure lists, downgraded benefits and other tactics insurance companies use to minimize their benefit payouts.
Remember, your insurance company works for their shareholders, not you…. AND, we work for YOU, not the insurance company. That is why we have elected to avoid any contractual arrangements with insurance companies.
This allows us the flexibility to provide the best possible treatment that meets your individual needs at an affordable price. It also allows us to work for you to maximize any available insurance benefit that you are entitled to.
